Who Is Recording Artist Carlton Thomas?

Multiple Academia Awards, Gospel Artiste and song writer, Carlton Thomas aka Minister Tommy CCT, is back and stronger than before.  Born in Howells Content, May Pen, Clarendon, this Jamaican extraordinaire started singing from the tender age of seven. His career looked promising from the start before his first recording at the age of fifteen with his group, “The Jacketeers.” He wrote the group’s second single, “Out Where the Sun Shine,” which was distributed by G.G. Recording Company on an album released in England. “Keep on Moving” from the LP went to #30 in the top 100 in Queens, England. Tommy began to perform all over Jamaica with artistes like Mighty Diamond, the Maytones, Barbara Jones, Leon Hyatt and Ruddy Thomas. Unfortunately, the group came to an end in December 1980, when Carlton Thomas migrated to Canada.

There, he continued to pursue music in the north by singing lead with his new band – “Now Generation,” performing at night clubs, and backing George Nooks shortly after they met. Tommy CCT continued to make strides by doing recordings for Bunny Gemini, until he gave his life to God in 1995, while on vacation at a funeral service. His music career took a turn as his work carried a new message and a new mission to encourage, evangelise, inspire and strengthen those who are hurting.

In 2010, he relaunched his music career, singing for the Lord, “Oh Why Should I love you Lord,” which became a hit.  In 2013, his songs hit #1 on the internet charts and he continues to make hits. In 2015, he got multiple awards in the Academia awards, including Artiste of the year and Best Reggae Gospel. He has also hit #1 on Reverb Nation and #1 in all categories on Number One Music Charts.

Minister Tommy CCT is a master designer by trade. He holds 39 years of experience in Fashion Designing and Tailoring; and he is a proud model of his designs.
