Recording Artist Tamitra Scott

A student of the arts Tamitra Lucas-Scott attended Morgan State University, in Baltimore, MD and later transferred and graduated from Mercy College, Dobbs Ferry, NY in 1998, with a degree in Liberal Arts. She began singing in church at an early age. By the late 1980’s, her powerful instrument was recognized everywhere she went. After many years of gaining education, travel and life experience she is now a saved and Spirit filled devoted wife and mother. Her accomplishments include a plethora of choral, directorial, professional background/lead recordings and solo singles. At the age of 17, Tamitra became a Wall of Fame inductee at Charles E. Gorton High School, Yonkers, NY for her captivating rendition of the “Star Spangled Banner”, as well as creating the infamous Gospel Super fest for the school’s spring concert.  The very first singing group she remembers was lead by her great-aunt Pastor Bernice Regester, named “Charlie’s Christian Angels”, this family ensemble was formed after school in Harlem, NY.

Her parents and grandparents were both in ministry at Zion Tabernacle of Faith and Mount Calvary Holy Church. Later the family was led by the Lord to Calvary C.O.G.I.C under leadership of the late Elder Payne in the Lower Hudson District where she faithfully attended Sunday school, Sunshine Band, Youth Choir and Y.P.W.W. Later her family was sent by the Lord to Presley Memorial C.O.G.I.C. where Tamitra served as Secretary for Supervisor of Women the late Mother Vera Brown in the 4th Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction of NY.

Tamitra is best known for serving as the Praise & Worship Leader of The Lord’s Church in the Bronx, NY, Greenville, NC and now Raleigh, NC under the leadership of award winning song writer Bishop Eric McDaniel where she has served over 25 years. Having sung duets with Bishop McDaniel & The TLC Cathedral Choir entitled ‘Restoration’, and ‘Love you the Same’; on albums, traveling in ministry, as well as background for the 2009 recording, entitled ‘I Am Favor’. Tamitra has also worked as worship leader and site director in several churches in the Atlanta area including the historical Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church where the pastor is Bishop William L. Sheals singing with the phenomenal church choir and praise team under the leadership of 2011 Gospel Stellar Award winner Elder Darwin Hobbs. Currently she is serving as Worship Leader for The Agape International C.O.G.I.C. under the leadership of Superintendent Braxton D. Bowser and has recently been tapped for an acting debut with brother Demarcus Haddock on an upcoming movie role based on his book and stage play entitled “Born to Win”.  Her sincere goal is living to live again, and to sing along the way!

Her portfolio highlights Elected President of the International Toastmasters Club 2019-2020 for Well’s Fargo Bank, here she was afforded many speaking opportunities and created a partnership for building mentors among business professionals, she recently became called upon as a judge to public speaking contests and has won several awards and competitions for speech writing in NC Division II, Area 76.  Tamitra was honored among the top 3% of the employees for the company in 2019 known as Golden Spoke for Excellence in Leadership.  As a co-author of two Anthologies for women entitled “Overcomers” in 2019 and “Seasons” most recently in 2022, remaining a devoted wife and mom of four, is STILL her chief ministry. Tamitra continues to learn and aspires lead by example, she challenges herself daily to shine brightest for Jesus in a dark world.
